vision flowers
Research in psychology shows that roughly 80% of people who set formal goals eventually abandon or alter them. Life-cycle shifts are a natural force in redirecting the goals we set for ourselves, but redirection can sometimes feel like failure. The Vision Flower workshop focused on exploring the link between the vision we set for ourselves and our values and identity. In this guided workshop, participants created a personalized ‘Vision Flower.’ The center of the flower represented a steady anchor through change, and was decorated with a guiding mantra, affirmation, or core belief. Each outside petal reflected the relationships, rituals, hobbies, or experiences that help in achieving aspirations or positively reflecting an individual’s identity. This project allowed participants to reconnect with their inner selves and unique sources of support, reinforcing a sense of direction through life’s seasons of change.
