The Joy Menu workshop explored how intentional time spent reflecting on the positive aspects of our lives (what’s known as savoring,) and giving thanks for what brings us joy can support emotional wellbeing and even override our brain’s natural negativity bias. In this guided workshop, participants were encouraged to identify their unique sources of happiness, both big and small, that nourish them - from meaningful relationships to simple everyday items or experiences. Through creating a personalized ‘Joy Menu,’ which included a starter, main course, and dessert, participants examined how deliberate attention to ‘taking in the good’ and creative expression can aid in savoring the presence of joy in our lives.
